My name is Clare Williamson and apart from a lifetime working with horses at home in Shetland, I spent four years training and working on the Mainland.  My main interest has always been in correct riding and showing.  I have a 15.1hh cob "Mystery Mayhem" who I have shown to National Level taking part in the Scottish Masters and the NE Scottish Showing Championships and he has also been very sucessful in Dressage Leagues on the Mainland.  I would love to do more showing and dressage, but travelling is very expensive.

I was also very lucky to work for a National Showjumper for a time, gaining loads of experience in caring for, schooling and producing showjumpers.  I particuarly enjoyed working with the young horses.

Annette Shewan is my mother, and has over 40 years experience in keeping horses and teaching children to ride.

She has also passed the UKCC Level Two qualification and is doing the HNC course in Equine Studies.

Mum helps out when needed at the Centre mostly with the bookwork, has a full First Aid Certificate and Child Protection Disclosure.

I have my BHS Stage Three in Riding and Stage Three in Horse Knowlege and Care and my PTT and will get my BHSAI as soon as the paperwork is finished!

I also have my Level 2 UKCC (United Kingdom Coaching Certificate) (Generic)

I am also studying for my HNC in Equine Studies part time.

I have a full First Aid at Work certificate and a disclosure from the British Horse Society for working with children.

At The Shetland Equestrian Centre, we aim to provide effective, professional and progressive teaching to everyone.  Our aim is to see riders improve and enjoy the experience of riding or owning a horse or pony.
